How it all began...
I grew up on a farm, happiest outdoors, roaming fields, climbing trees and messing about on ponies.
Academic success was never really my thing.
Instead, I found my path through sport, becoming an international athlete in winter sports before moving into a career in the operational side of large events.
Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to work on some truly remarkable occasions, including The Royal Tournament, The Royal Windsor Horse Show, The Queen's Diamond and Platinum Jubilee and historic D-Day commemorations.
While I loved the excitement and challenge.
I decided it was time to return to my roots and to something that had always brought me joy, flowers.
There was just one small problem...
...where I am today.
I am remarkably unsuccessful at keeping flowers alive indoors. Then I discovered just how extraordinary modern faux flowers had become: the quality, realism and artistry completely changed my perception of artificial flowers.
What began as curiosity became a new direction.
I retrained with The British Academy of Floral Art and learned to design with faux flowers exactly as you would with fresh blooms, focusing on colour, texture, movement and seasonality.
Today, The UnReal Florist combines my love of beautiful flowers with a practical appreciation for modern life.
I create bespoke arrangements that bring lasting beauty to homes, offices and events every day of the year, no watering required.
